An Eye for an Eye

i was reading the book of Matthew and all just came upon me,

Matthew5:21-22
you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subjected to judgement. But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subjected to judgement. Again, anyone who says to his brother 'Raca', is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.

Matthew5:38-42
you have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.'but I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

It was said during the old testament period that one who kills will be subjected to judgement but Jesus said instead, "anyone who is angry with his brother will be subjected to judgement".
This just hit me because being angry is equal to killing and both will be subjected to judgement. I did just realised that I've been "killing" for very long, always being angry easily for anything that irritates me. I know that my family and friends have always putting up with my temper which I find it not easy. Because if you want me to put up with people's anger, I probably can't do it. The Lord also said, "Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also." Can you imagine not to say or do anything if someone or your friend slap you? I would probably scold the person or give him/her back a slap. Despite the regretfull things that had already happened in me, in the end I know that God loves me and wants me to change to become a better person so He gave me this revelation, "If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles." ( Thank you Lord!)

:p * hmm.. so next time you can try venting your anger or slapping me to see if i can "go the extra mile" for you.. hahahahah....
